How To Turn On JavaScript

Enable JavaScript on Your BlackBerry Torch

  1. Check your BlackBerry device OS version before you begin.  You can accomplish this step by clicking on the "Options" link and then clicking on "About".  You will need to be using BlackBerry OS 5.0 or higher; older versions do not fully support JavaScript
  2. Open your BlackBerry Internet Browser by clicking on your "Browsers" icon on the home screen of your BlackBerry View Image
  3. Click on the "Options" link in the BlackBerry Internet browser View Image
  4. Choose "Enable" for "Support JavaScript", which will turn on JavaScript for your Internet browser View Image
  5. Choose the "Save" option.  Now simply browse to a web page with JavaScript enabled to test your newly installed setting View Image

Enable JavaScript on Your BlackBerry Storm 2

  1. Check your BlackBerry device OS version before you begin.  You can accomplish this step by clicking on the "Options" link and then clicking on "About".  You will need to be using BlackBerry OS 5.0 or higher; older versions do not fully support JavaScript
  2. Open your BlackBerry Internet Browser by clicking on your "Browsers" icon on the home screen of your BlackBerry View Image

  4. Choose the "Browser Configuration" option.  Scroll down through the choices shown and click on the option that says "Support JavaScript" View Image

Enable JavaScript on Your BlackBerry Bold 9700 OS 5.0

  1. Check your BlackBerry device OS version before you begin.  You can accomplish this step by clicking on the "Options" link and then clicking on "About".  You will need to be using BlackBerry OS 5.0 or higher; older versions do not fully support JavaScript
  2. Open your BlackBerry Internet Browser by clicking on your "Browsers" icon on the home screen of your BlackBerry View Image

Enable JavaScript on Your BlackBerry 5.0

  1. Check your BlackBerry device OS version before you begin.  You can accomplish this step by clicking on the "Options" link and then clicking on "About".  You will need to be using BlackBerry OS 5.0 or higher; older versions do not fully support JavaScript
  2. Open your BlackBerry Internet Browser by clicking on your "Browsers" icon on the home screen of your BlackBerry
  3. Click on the "Options" link in the BlackBerry Internet browser
  4. Choose the "Browser Configuration" option.  Scroll down through the choices shown and click on the option that says "Support JavaScript"
  5. Choose "Enable" for "Support JavaScript", which will turn on JavaScript for your Internet browser
  6. Choose the "Save" option.  Now simply browse to a web page with JavaScript enabled to test your newly installed setting

Enable JavaScript on Your iPod/iPhone

  1. Go to the Home screen by pressing the Home button or by unlocking your phone.
  2. Press the Settings button View Image
  3. Select Safari from the Settings menu View Image
  4. Turn on JavaScript by touching the JavaScript toggle View Image
  5. Press the Home button to return the the iPhone home screen
  6. Select the Safari icon to return to Safari
  1. Internet Explorer is the default browser for Windows Mobile phones, and can only run a small subset of JavaScript functions.  You will need another browser to run most JavaScript applications.  We recommend that you download the Opera browser.  Use Opera to open up a new web page, click on the "Tools" tab, open the "Quick Preferences" menu, and check the "Enable JavaScript" box.
  2. If you're an Android user, open up the "Options" menu and search for the "Set Javascript Enabled" prompt.  By default, it should be enabled; if it isn't, set it to "True"
  3. If you use another Smartphone, enter the preferences menu of your browser and search for the Javascript option.  Older phones especially phones sold before the advent of 3G networks may not support the language.  If your phone does not support Flash or Java, there's a good chance that it doesn't have the processing power to support Javascript

Enable JavaScript on Nokia E-series and N-series

  1. Open the browser, select Options then Settings.  Click on General, then Java/ECMA until it shows enabled

Enable JavaScript on Opera Browser

  1. Open the browser, select Settings.  Click on Advanced.   Check the box next to Enable JavaScript (a checkmark will appear).  Save your settings
